Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to in the form of Lita Ford) is an British born American guitarist who was as the lead vocalist of The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. The group was admired for their provocative lyrics and punkish fashion. The band was not able to achieve major success on the scene in their home country of the United States but earned huge popular internationally, especially in Japan. The band broke up in 1979, Ford started a lucrative solo career in the world of heavy metal. Her debut solo album was 'Dancin' on the Edge which was followed by her album Out for Blood. The albums of Ford were not particularly successful and she disappeared for several years. Her biggest hit, 'Lita' was released in 1989. the single 'Kiss me Deadly' and the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever' were both major hits. However, the popularity of her career was not last long and after a few years, she was absent. She re-emerged when she released 'Black' in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland' about 15 years later. The album "Time Capsule" was released by her in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend award.
