Lita Rossana Ford or Lita Ford as she is most commonly referred to as was an American born British musician and vocalist who led the female-only hard-rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. It was not possible for the band to be a major hit in America however, they enjoyed a great deal of attention in other countries and in particular Japan. After the band split in 1979 Ford started a lucrative solo career with heavy metal. Her first solo release was 'Dancin' on the Edge which was followed by her album Out for Blood. The two albums didn't get much attention and Ford was largely absent from the rock world for a few years. She returned with a bang with her hit album 'Lita, which debuted in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly (single) and Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were her most popular songs. Unfortunately her popularity was only short-lived, and she disappeared for a few years. In 1995 she debuted 'Black' and 15 years later , she released 'Wicked. 2016 saw the release of her latest album of studio work "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend award.
