Lita Rossana Ford She was born in the United Kingdom and was an American guitarist, vocalist, and writer. The latter half of the 1970s she was a lead guitar for the hard-rocking All-girl group The Runaways. The group failed to make a significant impact in The United States but earned huge popular internationally, especially in Japan. Ford began a heavy metal solo career when the group broke up in 1979. She took vocal lessons and then released her debut solo album , 'Out for Blood' and 'Dancin' On the Edge. Ford did not achieve any success with either record and disappeared from the world of rock for around a decade. She returned with a bang in 1988 with her wildly successful album 'Lita, which debuted in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly (single) as well as Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were her greatest hits. The success of her was brief and after a couple of more years, she disappeared. Her release of Black in 1995 was followed by a fifteen year wait for 'Wicked wonderland. The year 2016 brought the release of her latest studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
