Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford, as she's popularly known, was an American-born British singer and guitarist who was the leader of the only female hard rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. The band did not enjoy an enormous following in their home country of the United States. However, their fame grew internationally and especially in Japan. Ford started her own heavy-metal career following the split of her group in 1979. Following vocal training, she debuted her own solo album, 'Out For Blood'. This was followed by the release of 'Dancin"On The Edge'. The albums of Ford were not particularly well-received and she stayed away for a couple of years. The smash hit 'Lita' was released in 1989. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both were huge hits. The popularity of her was brief, and she went under the radar for a few years. The release of Black in 1995 was followed by a fifteen year wait for 'Wicked wonderland. The album she released most recently 'Time Capsule was released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
