Lita Rossana Ford (also called Lita Ford is an American guitar player and singer who was born in the UK. She played lead guitar in The Runaways, a hard-rock band made up of all females in the late 1970s. Their punkish music and provocative lyrics helped them get noticed by the rock community. The group did not have an enormous following in their home country of the United States. However, the group's popularity increased abroad, particularly in Japan. Ford launched a solo heavy-metal career following the split of her band in 1979. She began voice lessons, and released her first solo album , 'Out For Blood' then 'Dancin' on the Edge. Her albums weren't very popular and she went on hiatus for a few years. It was 1988 when Ford released her smash album "Lita". Kiss Me Deadly was a major hit, along with the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. However, the popularity of her career was not last long and after a few years she went under the radar. In 1995, she dropped "Black," and 15 years later , 'Wicked Wonderland. The album "Time Capsule" was released by her in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
