Lita Rossana Ford (also known as Lita Ford, is an American musician, singer and guitarist born in Britain. She played lead guitar for The Runaways, a hard-rock band made up of all girls in late 1970s. The band's punk-rock style and provocative lyrics helped them get recognized by the rock world. Although the band was not successful within the United States, it gained immense popularity in the world. Ford enjoyed a lengthy and prosperous career as a solo artist after the group split up in 1979. Her first solo release was called 'Dancin' on the Edge, followed by her record Out for Blood.
