Lita Rossana Ford (also also known in the form of Lita Ford) is an British born American singer on guitar who took as the lead vocalist for The Runaways a female hard rock group from the 1970s. They were noticed for their provocative lyrics and punkish style. The band was never able to the group to be an instant hit in the United States, however they did gain a fair amount of acclaim in other nations and in particular Japan. Ford started her own heavy-metal career after the breakup of her band in 1979. She began voice lessons, and released her first solo album , 'Out for Blood' and 'Dancin' On the Edge.
