Lita Rossana Ford is popularly referred to as Lita Ford is a British-born American guitarist vocalist and songwriter who served as the lead guitarist of the all-girl hard rock band The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their music and their rebellious lyrics allowed them to be noticed throughout the world of rock. The band did not enjoy much of a following in the United States. However, the group's popularity increased abroad, particularly in Japan. Ford's solo metal career proved successful following the group break-up. After taking lessons in singing, she released her solo debut album, called 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of her second album, 'Dancin"On The Edge'. Both albums failed to get much attention and Ford just vanished from the rock world for a few years. Ford returned to the scene with her smashing hit album 'Lita, which debuted in 1988. The lead song "Kiss My Deadly" and the ballad "Close My Eyes forever" were big hits. Unfortunately her success was short-lived and she vanished in the world of music for many years. The album 'Black' was released in 1995, and 'Wicked Wonderland just 15 years later, she reemerged. The year 2016 brought the release of her most recent album of studio work "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
