Lita Rossana Ford (also known as Lita Ford) is a British born American guitarist who was as the lead vocalist of The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. They gained attention by their raunchy lyrics and punk-inspired design. While the group was not successful within the United States, it gained immense popularity in the world. Ford launched a solo heavy-metal career after the breakup of her band in 1979. She began voice lessons, and recorded her first solo album 'Out for Blood followed by 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford went missing from the music scene for some time after the albums did not become popular. It was 1988 when Ford released her smash album "Lita". Kiss Me Deadly was a major hit, along with the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. Her success was unfortunately short lived and for several years after, she went under the radar. Her re-emergence was with the releases of "Black" which came out in 1995, and "Wicked Wonderland" which came out almost 15 years following. "Time Capsule," her debut album "Time Capsule" was made available by her in the year 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
