Lita Rossana Ford (also known by the name Lita Ford) is an British born American guitarist who was the lead in The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. They were noticed for their provocative lyrics and punk-inspired style. The group wasn't popular in the United States, it gained enormous popularity overseas. Ford started her own heavy-metal career after the disbandment of her band in 1979. She began voice lessons, and released her first solo album 'Out for Blood then 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford was absent from the scene for some time after both albums failed to gain much popularity. In 1988, Ford returned to the scene by releasing a dazzling album titled 'Lita. Kiss Me Deadly was a big hit, as were the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. Unfortunately, her popularity was only temporary and she was absent from the world of music for several years. The album 'Black' was released in 1995, as well as 'Wicked Wonderland 15 years afterwards it was back in the spotlight. The album "Time Capsule" was made available by her in the year 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
