Lita Rossana Ford often referred to as Lita Ford, is a British American singer-songwriter, guitarist and vocalist who served as the lead guitarist in the all-girl hard rock band The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their music and their rebellious lyrics helped them get noticed within the world of rock. It wasn't possible for The Runaways to become an instant hit in the United States, however they did gain a fair amount of attention in other countries, especially Japan. Ford's solo metal career proved successful following the group break-up. Her debut album as a solo artist was 'Dancin' On the Edge which was followed by her album Out for Blood. Her albums weren't very successful and she disappeared for a couple of years. The smash-hit album "Lita" was released by Ford in 1988. The lead single "Kiss me Deadly" and ballad "Close My Eyes forever" were big hits. However, her success was only short lived and for several additional years she was absent. Then she returned when she released 'Black' in 1995. Then she released 'Wicked wonderland' about 15 years later. The album she released most recently 'Time Capsule was released in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.

And in 2011, The Gracie Allen Awards awarded her the title of Outstanding Female Star for a Drama or Special for the character she played in The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
