Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to as Lita Ford) is a British born American guitar vocalist who played as the lead vocalist for The Runaways a female hard rock group in the 1970s. They gained attention by their raunchy lyrics and punk-inspired design. It was not possible for The Runaways to become popular in America, however they did gain a fair amount of popularity in other countries and in particular Japan. The band broke up in 1979 Ford began a successful solo career with heavy metal. After receiving voice lessons, Ford released her debut single album "Out for Blood" and then "Dancin in the Edge". Ford was unable to achieve much with either album and disappeared from the world of rock for 10 years. Her biggest hit, 'Lita' was released in 1989. Kiss Me Deadly was a huge hit as was the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. However, her popularity was not long-lasting and she was absent in the world of music for many years. Then she returned when she released 'Black' in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland' about 15 years later. The album she released most recently "Time Capsule" was launched in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
