Lita Rossana Ford, also called Lita Ford, is an American musician, singer and guitarist who was born in the UK. She played lead guitar for The Runaways, a hard-rock band made up of all females in the late 1970s. The band's punk-rock style and rebellious lyrics got them recognized by the rock world. Although the band was not success in The United States, it gained enormous popularity overseas. Ford launched a solo heavy-metal career following the split of her group in 1979. She took vocal lessons and recorded her first solo album 'Out for Blood and 'Dancin' On the Edge. Both the track "Kiss My Deadly" and ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" became huge hit songs. Unfortunately her popularity was only temporary, and she was gone for several years. Her return came with the release of 'Black in 1995 and 'Wicked Wonderland nearly 15 years after. in 2016, the latest album'Time Capsule' was made available. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend award.
