Lita Rossana Ford (also also known as Lita Ford) is a British born American guitarist who was as the lead vocalist for The Runaways a female hard rock group from the 1970s. The group was admired for their provocative lyrics and punk-inspired design. The band didn't have an enormous following within the United States. However, the group's popularity increased abroad especially in Japan. Following the split of the group in 1979, Ford started a lucrative solo career in the world of heavy metal. After taking lessons in singing, she debuted her own solo album, called 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of her second album, 'Dancin on the Edge'. Ford went missing from the music scene for a few years following both albums failed to become popular. It was 1988 when she released her hit album "Lita". The single "Kiss Me Deadly" and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were big hits. However, her success was only brief and after a couple of years after, she went under the radar. In 1995, she released 'Black' and 15 years later , 'Wicked Wonderland. "Time Capsule" was her album "Time Capsule" was released by her in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend award.
