Lita Rossana Ford popularly known as Lita Ford, is a British American musician, songwriter and guitarist who played lead guitar of the all-girl rock band The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their music and their rebellious lyrics made them popular in the rock world. Although the band was not successful within their home country of the United States, it gained huge popularity abroad. Ford started her own heavy-metal career after the disbandment of her band in 1979. Her debut solo album was 'Dancin' on the Edge and was followed by the album Out for Blood. Ford did not achieve any success with either record and remained out of the realm of rock for a decade. The smash hit 'Lita' came out in 1989. Kiss Me Deadly was a big hit, as were the ballad Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. However, her success was short-lived and she remained absent from the industry for many years. The album's release Black in 1995 followed by a fifteen year wait for 'Wicked wonderland. in 2016, the latest album'Time Capsule' was released. She was awarded The Certified Guitar Legend Award from the Guitar Player Magazine.
