Lita Rossana Ford often referred to as Lita Ford is a British American singer-songwriter, guitarist and vocalist who was the lead guitarist in the all-girl hard rock group The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their music and their rebellious lyrics made them popular within the world of rock. The group did not have an enormous following in The United States. However, their fame grew internationally especially in Japan. Following the split of the group in 1979 Ford embarked upon a successful solo career in heavy metal. Her first solo release was 'Dancin' on the Edge which was followed by her album Out for Blood. Ford's albums were not very popular and she went on hiatus for several years. The singer returned with her hit album , 'Lita' which came out in 1988. The hit single 'Kiss Me Deadly' as well as the ballad 'Close My Eyes Forever' both became big hit songs. However, her success was only short lived and for several more years, she disappeared. Her release of Black in 1995 was followed by fifteen year wait for 'Wicked wonderland. The album "Time Capsule" was made available by her in the year 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
