Silk was actually born Silk was born in Fredericton (New Brunswick), Canada. Silk is the daughter of Peter who was an academic as well as Ilkay Silk, a prominent actress and director. She was also a educator, playwright and director of drama of Drama at St. Thomas University. Anna recounts some of the first moments in her life when she went to watch her mother's performance in play rehearsals. Silk was a part of a variety of commercials while she was young. She received a Bachelor's of Arts from St. Thomas University in 1997. Theatre St. Thomas produced at least two early productions: Seven Menus, and The Kitchen. Silk relocated from Toronto in November 1999 and moved to Los Angeles during the next decade. Seth Cooperman met Silk at the Actors Workshop held in Los Angeles in 2007. After getting engaged in 2008, they married in 2009. Following her conversion to Judaism the couple renewed their wedding vows at the Jewish ceremony on April 10th 2011.
